No-Sew Sweater to Cardigan!

Quite awhile ago, I pinned this tutorial - instructions to make a cardigan out of a too-small shirt or sweater.  And it's NO-SEW!  Right up my alley.  But I didn't really have a shirt to use.

Well, a couple weeks ago, I came across this sweater at a second hand store.

There was a sale so it was only 50 cents!  And it is super cute and in my colors.  The only problem?  It's an extra small.  I'm more of a small-medium kinda girl, but I thought I'd give it a try.  I was in a hurry and didn't have time to try it on.

I tried it on and it was NOT attractive.  Waaayyy too much spare tire enhancement.  So I was a little bummed and not willing to go on a diet.  Then I realized I could try out this pin!  I picked up some hem tape for a couple dollars and went for it!  It was a little scary cutting down the middle of the shirt, but I managed.  Here's the result:

Very happy with my new sweater!  Great deal and I can't wait to make more in the future!
